My 92 year old grandfather was passing and I flew to Minnesota to see him. He said, "Scott, don't be sad for me I'm 92 years old. I've done everything I've ever wanted to do and have no regrets, I'm ready to go."

On the way home I was thinking about what regrets I had. What I came up with is when I first started in the restaurant industry in the late 80's I worked for a gentleman in Johnson City Tennessee.

He really influenced me and I never got a chance to thank him. Ten days later I was working at the Mall of GA and came around the corner and who was sitting at the table, this gentleman.

I got a chance to thank him and felt like my life was complete. Then when my wife, Mo and I came to purchase this property, It was more money than I thought we would qualify for but we said, we will just give it a shot, the worst they could say is no. Well, thankfully they said yes.

I had a name all picked out and Mo didn't like it, She had a name and I didn't like it. Finally our address is 555 and we put that into Google, it said If you see 555 that is a sign from your guardian angel letting you know you have big life changes coming your way, but not to be scared because they are going to look out for you and take care of you.

So that's how we became the 5 Spot Café and why we have three 5's in our logo and angel wings as tribute to my grandfather who still looks out for us and takes care of us after all these years.
